Spending Weekend Alone

I was looking forward to visit from my daughter this weekend but at the last moment she decided to go off on a trip to Moab, Utah, of all places. Now I am feeling sorry for myself and I sense a long, lost weekend is in my future. Any advice on how to stop feeling sorry for myself? What should I say to her?

I am glad you posted this. I think a lot of people feel this way when others choose to go off and do other things. First off I think when she decided to go away instead of being with you you should have said that you hoped she had the best time ever!! You want her to enjoy her life to the fullest and grab every chance she gets right? Second onhow to stop feeling sorry for yourself I would get out there and do something you enjoy. I know sometimes we feel that we can not take that step unless we have someone to go along, but let me tell you you can and more than likely you will have the best time. I would not just sit around and mope about not having her with you I would get out and try to enjoy your life to the fullest. I am sure your daughter doesn't want you to feel sorry for yoourself I am sure she wants you to get out and enjoy. Let us know what happens and how you get through this. I am sure what you discover will help others that are going throught the same thing. Hope this helped:) Until then~~~~Michelle
