Visiting the long lost inlaws this week.

I am so nervous. I haven't seen some of them for 20+ years. If you haven't been following my story, my mom and dad have major issues with her side of the family, so we have not been in touch. Well, I feel that I want to and my parents are furious so I am just not telling them!

Anyway, I have some questions.

I will be staying at one aunt's house one of the nights and another aunth some nights. Should I bring gifts for them? I don't know if I should. It will be awkward enough as it is I don't want to make it more.

I have three "young" cousins. One 23, one @12-13, and one @2. All boys. I would like to bring them holiday gifts but I have no idea what to bring for the two older ones. DVD's perhaps? Anyone have any ideas?

Instead of bringing one gift for EVERYONE just bring one gift for the WHOLE FAMILY so they can all share. Big box of the best candies. You can't go wrong, everyone loves candies, like Godiva or See's. Or if you think they don't care sweets, get one just for your aunt. You knew them longer than your cousins, even though you haven't seen them for 20+ years. And you're staying in their homes, it's a good gesture of THANK YOU. You buy something like a DVD, they might not own a DVD player and you'll have to guest what they LIKE.

A box/basket of cookies or chocolates? How does that sound? I still really want to bring something for the kids. At least the 13 and 2 year old. Would that really be too much?

I am leaving on Wed.

I would get Music Store Gift Certificates for the two older kids (in whatever denominaton you choose, but great music can be had for as little as $10!), any Sesame Street character toy would be adored by the 2 yr. old (Meijers, K Mart, Toys R Us), and I'd make a little basket of assorted teas, with cookies from your favorite bakery for each Aunt. Have Fun!!
