My daughter has some very wealthy friends from the private school that she attends and they jet off here and there in the holidays. I have never been friends with the mothers of these girls, rather have often avoided them at school functions and events that we cross over. They are veru very snobby indeed and will only call you if they want you to attend their functions for numbers purposes.

My DD slept at the wealthiest one the other night and had plans to go out with the kids later in the day, to meet at the mall

I don't know how old your daughter is, but I'm guessing she's a minor... which makes the one woman resposible for her during that time. Ditching her for 2 hours could bring serious repercussions. What if something happenesd to your daughter in those 2 hours?

How awkward and sad for your DD. :( Big (HUGS) to her. I agree with you - this was rude and a little inappropriate. It's really too bad that the mother sets this kind of example for her daughter.

What does your DD think?

I agree the mothers/families sound awful and their morals I do not agree with personally.

I gotta hand it to your daughter, though. She's 16 and she hasn't let the hoity toity attitudes influence her. I have seen adults, who married into money, suddenly become snobs, due to the family and friends' influence. Your daughter has a mind of her own! :P

THanks all for your support and HUGS! Its so nice to get pleasant feedback from you.

My DD is very resilient and has been around these kids her whole life. She has many friends and so do I from the school. At a private school, there are some that money doesnt matter, but there are alos many parents who struggle to pay the school fees. The school is large - there are over 160 kids in the year, so she has a lot of choice of friends.

DD has friends also in the year above and below, and is capable of making friends as she is a fun, happy (mostly) and gregarious girl. She is away at camp right now where she is a leader, and she likes doing that.

THe snobby women who's children are all cottoned woolled up and NEVER go to camp, only on expensive family holidays, I feel sorry for these kids. They will only ever live in a glass bowl and be indulged. The kids are all nice kids, luckily they dont seem to have snobby views like their mothers (and its true about women who marry money, all of those 3 mothers have indeed done that- married into wealth and

I wonder why people like that give so much to charity organisations to get their name splashed on buildings, but they cant show a lit humility in their own home to a child ???

That's just it. A lot of people give to charity for show, recognition and a tax deduction.

I’m sorry you’re upset, but I’m a bit perplexed.

Whether you're right or not on how people view wealthy people, how does that help her in regard to her dd?

Or was that ever a priority?
