I'm having a small cookout - 6-8 people, I asked my daughter if she could make something, like some appetizers...she said okay.  Today she says you asked people to come over and now you are asking me to make something!!!  Excuse me...I'm making everything and buying everything...I just asked for a little bit of help since I do work all week...is it me?  or was that a bit rude...I wouldn't mind but she isn't working.  I know I didn't raise her to be rude like that and I was upset.   I'm still shaking my head!  I did say you don't have to be so nasty to me, all I did was ask, if it's that much of an inconvenience don't do it...OMG.

Hi, I understand your frustration.

IMPO, I think it is immaturity, she might be married and in her thirties, but in her core she is like a teenager.

Not sure what advice to give you. But if she does things like that, don´t ask again, because you will only feel frustrated.

Sometimes daughters are rebellious, or know exactly what button to push to make their moms mad.

But those attitudes, don´t make moms willing to give again. As moms we should give and give and give when our kids are kids, but not with grown ups.

Good luck!
