Do you and DH wear your rings?

Yesterday on the radio, they were talking about the fact that Prince William will not be wearing a wedding ring after he and Kate Middleton wed later this month.

When I mentioned it to my mom, she said it has always bothered her that my dad doesn't wear his wedding ring. That surprised me. My dad made his living as a mechanic so it could have been dangerous to have a ring on while he was working; if a piece of equipment fell on his hand, it could catch his ring, crush his finger or do even worse damage.

My mom said she understood him not wearing his ring at work but he doesn't wear it when they go out, on vacations or now that he's semi-retired. She said she finally quit reminding him because it's clear that he doesn't want to wear it.

My DH wears his ring most days to work (occasionally he forgets) but he usually takes it off when he gets home in the evening. It doesn't bother me too much when he's not wearing it although I will joke with him that it's not that easy to consider himself "unmarried". LOL

So, does your DH wear a ring on a regular basis? Do you? Is it an issue for either of you?

Neither my husband or I wear our wedding rings, I gained weigh & my rings are now too tight, my husband lost part of his finger in a long spliter and still has pain and sensitivity in his hand. My feeling on the matter is marriage is in the heart not in a ring. Whether we wear our rings or not we know we are married and it is up to us to honor our wedding vows.

Men hit on me all the time wearing their wedding rings, people have affairs all the time wearing their wedding ring. If your spouse is inclined to cheat the ring will not stop them. Plus lots of woman really don't care if a man is married and look at it as a challange.

I value my marriage and honor the vows I took in front of god, my friends and family and I don't need a ring on my finger to uphold those vows.

I haven't hardly worn mine since we got married because I swell up every time I have a kid, and my husband doesn't mind but it does make me feel weird sometimes when other guys check me out and I don't have it on. I don't think I'd care too much if my husband stopped wearing his as long as he continues to act like he's mine.

I wear mine 24/7, unless I take it off to apply lotion, at a nail apt, etc. and forget to put it back on. My husband is actually the one who pesters me! lol He can probably count on one hand how many times he's taken his off in the last six years. I would make me reconsider his loyalty if he refused to wear one, but that's probably because I know how important it is to HIM.

I'm a little late chiming in on this one, but here it is!

My DH and I almost always wear our wedding rings. He takes his off to do dishes, work out, etc. But our wedding rings are just little steel things we got so we had something to exchange during the elopement ceremony.

My dh and I both wear our rings regularly. DH is an electrician, so depending on what he's doing he won't wear it to work because it will conduct electricity. But he and I both have tungsten bands that we wear doing pretty much everything else since they don't scratch, dent or damage easily. Occasionally when we forget to put our rings on we joke that we are "single" that day. Since it's the only piece of jewelry that he wears (doesn't even wear a watch) I consider myself lucky that he wears it as much as he does :)
