I've Been MIA

Sorry that I haven't been around for awhile. I've been trying to focus on real life for awhile. I've been dealing with a lot of changes at work. I've also been having to deal with the fact that my cat Billy, who is the love of my life, was recently diagnosed with FIV, which is the feline form of the AIDS virus. I've also been spending a lot of time getting my spiritual life back on track.

I hope that everyone here has been doing well.

No, the cat in my avatar is part of a photo that I have for my profile pic on Facebook. It's actually a Halloween kitten, but with me being a Druid and Samhain being my favorite holiday, I'm keeping the Halloween kitten up all year round. I've been waiting for people to say something about the fact that it's December and not October, but so far no one's said anything.

DH has our pics of our cats on his computer. I'm going to get him to transfer the pics onto his flash drive so that I can get them onto my computer. Then I can share my babies with y'all.

Is Billy at that cute cat in the picture? He's adorable. Sorry to hear about his illness. Hopefully you and vets can keep him healthy and happy for a while longer.

We missed you but it's understandable that life is more important.

I have been neglecting my own spiritual life badly. But I know something has to give w/2 little ones, a marriage and a career taking up my time. Of course, I could cut down on computer time...hmm....nah :)

Thanks for updating us,

Dee

Thanks, ladies! I've missed being here with y'all!

As for Billy, there is really no treatment for FIV. We mainly have to keep a careful watch on him and make sure that he doesn't get sick from anything. Because of his now compromised immune system, he can easily get secondary infections that can make his condition a lot worse. Fortunately, I work with a really good group of people and I trust the vets I work with, so any time that Billy gets sick I'm taking him to work with me.

It's good to see you back. I thought I'd already replied but remembered that the internet (or maybe just ivillage) was acting wonky last night. ;)

{{{Hugs}}} on the FIV diagnosis. I don't know that much about the disease but I hope that there are treatment options so you don't have to say good-bye much sooner than necessary. That must be really difficult!

I look forward to seeing you around here more!

It's so good to see you again; I wondered if you had wandered away from the board, and hoped it wasn't permanent!
