We're staying pretty close to home for most of the summer. We have a 2-week trip planned in August to attend my 20-year high school reunion. While we're there, I'm looking forward to going to the coast with the dogs, spending quality time with my parents, nieces, friends and going with my mom, sister and friends to see Mamma Mia live on stage!
While we're in Oregon, we'll be staying at my parents' house.
En route, we've found several pet friendly hotels along the way. There's a chain of hotels on the West coast called Shilo Inns and they have great facilities for dogs. That's where we'll stay when we go to the coast, too. I always get online to verify what the policies are at hotels. I think it's Best Western that has a pretty good policy at most of their hotels. There's usually a small ($15-25) fee per night but it's worth it to us and the dogs are really well behaved so we don't have to worry about them in the rooms.
I'm hoping to take them to the family picnic at our reunion. The night of the formal dinner, I'll leave them with my parents. Even though they don't have dogs now, they are pretty tolerant of our dogs and the dogs will mostly just lay around at that time of night anyway. LOL
We figure as long as they're part of the family, we travel with them as much as possible. ;)
That's good on the pet friendly hotels RoseAnn, Oh yes those fees are always woth it to have your furkids with you. Nice yours are so well behaved too .. that helps. Great your parents will have them at your formal night & yes imagine they will just sleep while you're gone :)
