Moving is hard work!

DH and I are supposed to be all packed up and ready to load up the U-Haul truck on July 11th. We only have until this Thursday to finish, since we're leaving for a week long trip to MI on Friday. Fortunately, my mother's house, where we are living at the moment, is only two hours away from our new house, and she said that we can leave some stuff here and pack it up later when we come to visit. I'm hoping that we can get it all done by Thursday. Knock on wood!

A charity calls us about every month or so to see if we have stuff to donate. They are coming here on Thursday morning. My mother is going to have to warn them ahead of time that we will have A LOT of stuff to give them. DH and I went through our closet tonight and we have four garbage bags full of clothes to give away. We still have several drawers to go through, plus a coat closet. And I already have several bags of stuff to get rid of. Moving is a great way to give stuff to charity. I didn't realize that we had so much stuff that we hadn't been using or wearing.

Hi Nancy,
Oh yes moving is very hard!
We moved both sons last summer so know exactly what you mean!

It is amazing how much *stuff* one collects over time , LOL
Nice though that your Mom says you can leave & come back for things.
Very wise to unclutter all you can now.
All those bags of clothes you're giving away will really be appreciated by others.
Hopefully you get it all done by the end of this week.
Good luck & be careful too when moving/lifting :)

It's great that you're taking the opportunity to go through and get rid of stuff while you're moving. No sense finding a place for it at the new house!

DH and I helped DBIL and DSIL unpack their moving truck this weekend. We were both frustrated by the number of things that DBIL set aside and said "Oh, we're going to throw that out anyway." Well, then why did it take up space in the truck?!

I hope your move goes well!

Both my sons don't understand that concept RoseAnn,
They just take everything from place to place ::shaking head::
Maybe because it's that their still *relatively* young.
However it drives me crazy they do that :)
