What are the reasons your DH/So is a keeper?
What does he do that just says you can't live without him?

Let our *inquiring minds* know as always :)

DH is a keeper for me for many reasons:

*He gets me.

*He would rather me stay home and be with the kids while working himself to the bone so our children don't have to be in daycare. He feels that it is his responsibilty as a man to support his family even if that means being away from home a lot more than we would like. It is important to him that our children be home rather than be taken care of by others.

*He is completely faithful and has never given me any reason to stray.

*He is always on my side and stands behind me, even if it means going against his family at times.

You said you wanted this to be an ongoing thread so, here goes:

Tonight DH had his game night with friends; leaving at 5; home around midnight. I had planned dinner on my own and a movie to watch without him (Like Water for Chocolate..steamy!). When he was getting ready to leave, he offered to get me a coffee at Starbucks before remembering that I was already on my way out to KFC for dinner. ;)

I like that he tries to soften the blow of him being gone for the evening. ;)

What are the reasons your DH/So is a keeper?

Because it took so bloody long to get him! And now when I have him, I am not letting him go! He says the same about me.

I never understood people who try to change the person they love,

I agree as that is why you love them for who/what they are as is :)

I totally agree with that!!

I *did* kind of change my DH's mind though. He had a workaholic father so he was very slack about his career. While I do love that he is not ambitious and cut-throat...he needed to make a little more money for our family to have a decent lifestyle. I know money isn't everything and we both agree it's not the guaranteed road to happiness. But I would like simple things like eating together as a family (something we can only do 2x/week).

My dh is a keeper because he loves me.
