SuperBowl or SuperBore?

Am l the only  person in the world who would rather watch paint dry than watch the SuperBowl?......I just don`t get it?......Why do guys (and America) get so excited watching grown men beat each other up & run up & down the field??....I understand it's a National pastime & all,  but do we have to devote a whole day to it?......I guess I could always turn the channel or go in the other  room & watch Lifetime,  but then my sweetie thinks I'm a downer.   Let me know if I'm the only one in the world who would rather be shopping or commenting on Ivillage?.....

LOL Cris,
I filed my nails during it <g>
I agree with you but now had it been one of our teams here ..
Maybe would feel differently.
Have to say it was a close/good game & I am so not a football fan :)

Sorry I'm responding so late. I haven't even attempted to access iVilage from my head might explode. LOL

I see Superbowl as a purely social activity. I didn't even know who was likely to play until near the end of the play-offs.

That being said, I willingly attended a Superbowl party at DMIL and DFIL's house, where there was great food and plenty of other conversation besides the game. DN (5 y.o.) and I colored; several of us played a game of UNO. I took my iPad so I could check Facebook or play games to pass the time.

I perked up for the ads which I thought were underwhelming this year.

I say, if it's not your thing, you are allowed to leave the room (or the house) and do something you enjoy. Or, if you aren't too distracted, you're allowed to occupy yourself with something else while the game's on. What if the situation were reversed? If your DH were bored by the idea of you getting a pedicure, would you expect him to go with you and just sit there? ;)

I don't like football either...DH and I were having a romantic evening on a ski hill that night. He did see the last 2 mins in the hotel room tho :)

You are not a downer!
