We are having 4 cubic yards of soil delivered tomorrow morning. That will have to be moved around to the backyard via wheelbarrow so I'll work on that while DH tills it into the garden. If we still have energy left when that's done, we might head to the nursery for some plants and garden accessories. I love this time of year when the yard projects are fun and lead to nice-looking stuff; not the boring old clean-up. LOL

I work for the Federal government so this may be an "extended weekend" for me. ;) I have to report to work on Monday but if a budget hasn't been passed, I'll immediately be sent home and I have a list of small projects to work on.

Mani/pedi sounds nice! Is there an occasion or "just because"?

Fun RoseAnn,
.. well it will look nice after anyways, LOL
We had a *guy* come do our much this week
Not a lot here so it wasn't too costly.
Maybe if not Saturday then Sunday you can go to the nursery.
Looking for any particular plants or whatever strikes your fancy ?

Work for many will/could be effected ::sigh::
Good you have some projects to be done just in case.

have a fabulous weekend & hopefully nice weather as well :)

plants or whatever strikes your fancy ?>

We bought two nice trellises last year for our lilacs before we realized that they don't really *need* trellises so I'd like to get some clematises and plant them along the fence.

We removed a few dead bushes and have room for a tree. I've always wanted a dogwood (with pink flowers, if you must know) but I don't know if they're suited to the climate here. If not a dogwood, maybe another type of flowering tree.

We might get some seeds for things that can tolerate the cooler spring temps: peas, lettuce, etc

Trying to hold off on all other planting. In the past, we've jumped the gun and planted pots of flowers this early and then have to replant replacements when they get too cold. :(

Fortunately, DH and I have a healthy cushion in our savings account...plus his income is stable so we won't be suffering financially unless this goes on for awhile. I'm trying to make the best of the situation but the uncertainty is tough for me. I'd like to make plans if I'm going to be off work but we won't know until each day dawns whether we're off or working. Forces me to flex my "spontaneity" bone. LOL

That sounds nice what you hope to find/buy to go along the fence RoseAnn,
Dogwoods are indeep beautiful & I bet it will be ok
We have them out here & get lots of bad weather
Hopefully you can get one .. I love pink flowers, LOL
Let's not even go there about the weather.
We're running late because of it to get our gardenias outside.
hoping no more cold/freeze for either of us!

Good you can be ok with the work situation for a while if need be.
LOL on making plans ect ..
Yep time to be flexible & perhaps enjoy the time off .. hoping it isn't long though :)

That's good to know! My boss described my concern well: Some plants have sensitive feet (roots) and can't take the hard ground freezes we occasionally get.

We just had our worst/most snowy winter that I remember since living year (15 years)
They are all doing fine now so hopefully ok there too :)
