DMIL is hosting Thanksgiving dinner and has tasked DH and I with bringing an appetizer. DH wants to get super fancy and make a chilled soup and serve it in oversize shot glasses. He'll probably make another, more finger-food appetizer, too.

The dinner itself will include all the traditional foods: turkey (+tofurkey for the vegetarian and vegans), stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries, rolls and pumpkin pie.

It all sounds very tasty RoseAnn,
What kind of chilled soup is DH thinking of making ?
Remember I love all soups :)

I voted neither as I'm not hosting Thanksgiving this year. I have to take sweet tea and dinner rolls to my Mom's, and my Dad informed me that I don't have to bring anything to their dinner but myself and my family. :)

Neither as we are the ones visiting. I do imagine there will be turkey and ham, though. Probably some brisket and sausage and everything else you can possibly imagine!

He hasn't settled on one yet but we're leaning toward a slightly spicy tomato

I've still got a bit of tweaking to do on the menu, but here it is, as it stands right now:
