Ok ladies, I did not get enough sleep last night so I am a little loopy, but here I go.

I was at a lunch hour meeting today and afterwards a gentleman made small chit chat with me "where do you work" etc.

You think that a ring would stop guys from hitting on you? For some people, the wedding ring would make you more attractive! But you could always wear a ring even if you're not married--consider it a commitment ring or a promise ring (that last one sounds kind of high school).

Hope you get some rest this weekend.

The story reminds me of Las Vegas. I'd say almost all the women card dealers wear rings, regardless if they have a DH/BF/GF/or not! Why? Because it cuts back on the guys hitting on them. Now granted, it may not stop some men but if that's the case, would you even be interested in that then? LOL.

Point is, if I was in a committed r'ship like you are, I'd probably wear a ring. Something that isn't a diamond, but something you like. It reminds me of the ring I'm wearing right now. I bought a Tiffany ring for "after golf" when my hands swell up and cant' wear my regular wedding band. It by no means was expensive (compared to most diamond wedding band), but it's something that DH likes me to wear, so I do. And it's plain. Will it keep men away? I think my weight does that for me, lol, but seriously, who knows.

IMHO, I'd wear something. Just to show the commitment, not the marriage part of it. But that's me. ;) And no, I wouldn't expect DBF to buy it, nor would it need to be expensive.

I just thought of something. so lame, but here's my story. My mom had gained weight when she was diagnosed with asthma due to the drugs. Her wedding ring no longer fit and my dad didn't like that she didn't wear it. Yet, of course, he never bought her one. So, I did. For her birthday, I bought this really pretty yellow/rose gold ring. She loved it and I told her it was to replace her wedding band for now. Up until my brother had kids, she'd still wear it. She doesn't cuz it's too big (she's lost a lot of weight chasing after the boys, lol). But, maybe soon her regular ring will fit again. ;)

Want me to send you my Tiffany ring? LOL.

I am at work and sort of snickered as I wrote that to you and I'm not even sniffing any glue or nitrous - honest.

After my seperation, I changed jobs and I got a very cheap silver ring that I wore on my left hand.

The choices we make in thought, word and deed inevitably return to us in kind.
