Or would someone else do the same?

I PROMISED my dd, she would get her braces on yesterday....I've been talking about it for the last month.

you are not bananas, I did the same thing (more or less). I could have driven an hour to get cheaper braces, but no, it is not worth it. Explain to DF what a PAIN it is going forward, you have to coordinate cleanings with going to ortho for wires off, to dentist for cleaning, back to ortho to put wires on. And big picture, it is not that much more.

One more thing, we have a rule here at work - if you weren't there, dont

Hmmm....I understand your DF's initial flip out---in that you're paying for insurance your'e essentially not using then, right?

I would have probably checked around when told that, but then again....you THOUGHT you had done that also-----why did the office mislead you that way? You COULD call re: "in network" providers, see what would happen with switching to them----after all, what if you needed to move mid-ortho work? You'd have to be voiding the one office and changing to another---it must be POSSIBLE-----you could at least look at the options now, and what hassle/expense would be if changing-----AND /OR---since HE"S the one complaining,...maybe HE wants to do the legwork on making these calls/figureing this out....??

Convenience DOES often have a price.........and I think you DID do more legwork on this than your DF is giving you credit for....but, regardless.....you (or he!) could still probably look into what your options are going forward....

BEST WISHES!

Well, that's the other thing.....I did 'try' to 'price things' by taking her to another ortho.

I think that since you did find another ortho who is covered by your ins & convenient to you, you might want to stop in there and ask them (not the ins. co.) about how much it would cost you out of pocket.
