I am new to this forum, and new to merging families... so I will give you a quick background.

I married too young the first time, married for 12 years, together for 15 years and divorced for 3 years now.

Yea, it would be better if you were not within earshot of their conversations. I just threw that out there since you did hear, that he clearly isn't hiding anything.

I also found that some things I didn't realize still bothered me until I was with SO. It has nothing to do with not being over xH, but rather behaviors of SO that in the past meant something no good was going on. I wasn't in reality, I was projecting onto SO.

For example, my xH was a drug addict, and would take off in the middle of the night and may be gone for a few days. So if SO even sat up in bed, I jumped up in fear that he was leaving. I mean really, poor guy couldn't even get up to get a drink of water or go to the bathroom without me jumping up in a panic?

So again, there was no confusion about ever wanting to be with xH, but rather the physical reaction to what my past experience was. I hope that makes sense.

Anywho, I hope you stick around and please post anything, even if it seems minor and we will be glad to share our experience.

Not only can it be, for some lucky souls the second love can be greater than the first....

I'd say second time is much MUCH better for me.

The first wasn't that great; at the time I thought it was good enough.
