FYI - I am having sign on issues
| Sat, 12-15-2012 - 9:11pm |
I am able to sign on at home, but not at work. I do a lot of my posting from work, so that is why I have been quiet on the board this week. I will do what I can.
I have already let our CM know. I have Windows xp and IE8 at work. Windows 7 and IE9 at home. Guess it doesn't like the older IE.

Hi Serenity--
FWIW-----
I'm now onto google chrome....but when I had IE.....I had HORRENDOUS time with this board....it always took F*O*R*E*V*E*R to open things, posting was awful, etc. It had always been bad...then got REALLY bad....anyhow, one day I upgraded to the newer IE....................and ---WOW!----it was like night and day---
UNBELIEVABLY better........
The only annoying thing I've got going on these days......EVERY time I try to post----it tells me I need to log in---and I ALWAYS check the box that says "keep me signed in forever".........but it doesnt.
AND...*after* I sign in with password---it flashes a screen telling me I'm not *authorized* to post........but then it lets me post.
The same thing has been happening to me. It's funny though--I hadn't been having any problems at home using IE until the past week or so, then I got all those problems that you mentioned--so why would things get worse? Using Google chrome is better.
Hi, everyone. I know this whole thing is frustrating, and I'm sorry. I wish I had more information to share.
If you're getting looped to log in each time you want to start a post, one thing that's worked for me (it's a workaround, not a fix) is before I start a new thread, I click the link at the bottom of the folder/section I want to post to that says "see all threads in this board." From that page, I'm able to start a new thread.
Are you getting the sign-in loop when you're trying to start a new thread or when you're trying to reply?

Hello peeps! I tried all the loopholes on IE8 and still couldn't get it to work. I tried Chrome (again) and saw that one of you said even after the error message said you couldn't post, it actually let you. So here I am!
iVillage is really odd over here on Chrome. Not having any ads is great, but for example, I can't read the post I am replying to right now. Seems a lot is missing. But, I am also at work, which is Windows xp, so that may have something to do with it.
Wish I could upgrade to IE9 here at work, but can't with Windows xp. Going to see if my luck holds!

Hi CMJ--
My situation is always replying to a post---I havent tried to start any since all of this went down.....
Just wanted to bump this up again.......I'm still having the EXACT same issues I posted about here December 17!!
When I want to post, I have to log in (even though I checked "keep me logged in" the previous time I did it).....THEN it tells me I'm "not authorized" to post (pink box at top of screen that says that)-----
THEN....if I wait a minute, it brings up the posts again, only this time there is both the reply plus the Quick Reply option (normally as I view on chrome, it's only "reply" option available....when I click on that, it gets me to the log in screen, as described above....)
So...THEN...if I click on "reply" (like I did for this posting...) it will work.
(I BELIEVE when I try "quick reply" it DOESNT work.....anyhow, I havent tried that one since so much trouble in past)
Anyhow, this is my guess why we dont have many posting on here anymore------I think they probably BELIEVE the "not authorized", and leave.............
