I am getting married next year for the 2nd time. I truely think I have found my soul mate. We have been together for 4yrs. He has been my best friend and a wonderful father to my children.
What I am here to find out is what did some of you wear when you got married for the 2nd time? I am really torn on whether or not I should wear white or if I should go with a different color. Any and all advice and past experience is welcome.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks! The wedding is planned for May 11,2013 on the beach in Galveston,tx. I'm 28 and my fiance is 26. He has never been married before and has no kids of his own. We are involving my children in every aspect of the wedding. My children (daughter 8 and son 6) are going to walk me down the aisle and stand with us during the ceremony. To us the wedding isn't just about the bride and groom. It's about the four of us becoming a family.
The first time I wore a very ugly off white wedding dress chosen by my soon to be mother in law. She made the day more about her and all the things she wanted. From the ceremony site to the food, I had very little say in the planning. My ex wasn't very involved with the planning so he didn't care how it all turned out.
I really want our wedding day to express us and our love for each other and the children.

I plan to stay around, I'm going to need lots of advice. I am really struggling with my ex and his relationship with his kids. I didn't think I would ever remarry again either. I was very happy being alone and being a working single mom. My fiance was able to melt my very strong outer shell. From the moment I met him I knew he was special. After several months of dating I introduced hi to my children. He didn't hesitant to get down on the floor and play with them. He did things that not even their biological father would do. He had them feel just as important in the relationship as I was to him. We took them on dates and on little weekend get aways.
We have lived together for 3yrs and we basically function as a married couple with kids. I don't want things to change once we say I do but I have this feeling that they are. I am going to need lots of advice and learn for all of your past experiences. I have never uttered the D word in our relationship and I don't want to ever feel like I have too.

Sounds like you are leaning towards a full out wedding. My second wedding I was only 28 and since my first wedding was going to the justice of the peace during my lunch hour, I was definitely ready for a REAL wedding!

I wore a white wedding dress for my second wedding. DH had never been married an no kids, either. I would say go for it, and wear what makes you comfortable and feel like a bride. I don't think anyone gave it a second thought I had a formal wedding and wore a formal wedding gown.

Congrats!

Wonderful...congratulations! I'd go look for dress styles you like, and let the color just follow. Since it will be very warm, I think a breezy, pretty white dress with beachy accents would be great. A blush pink or peach color would be great, too. Look online at places like TheFind.com and TheKnot.com (wedding website). I got my dress at Macy's, so look at stores like that, too. Be sure to post pics when you get it! :)

Thanks Pepper!
I'm going to start looking this summer so I am not in a big rush and stressing out that the dress being done in time. I've already decided that my bridesmaids are going to wear really simple black dresses and cute flip flops. I'm leaving the Groomsman attire to my fiance but of course I get final say LOL. I am putting lots of ideas together to pull off a beautiful wedding on a $6,000 budget. I will post a pic of the bridesmaids dress tomorrow. You should see the memo section and photo gallery my cell phone. Things I see that I like I take pictures of and the write down where I saw it and the price. If my phone dies or gets lost I would be so lost. LOL

Cupcake tree with beach/seashell motif and colors, instead of a $$$ wedding cake! :)

I thought about that then one of my bridesmaids gave me the name of a friend of hers that does cakes. I checked them out a few weeks ago and they will can do a 4 tier wedding cake for $100-$150. There cakes are beautiful and taste yummy. I gave them our flavors (spiced rum, coconut and amaretto) and we will be scheduling a tasting in June.
