I think it's just an illusion that we are naturally going to love stepchildren and stepgrandchildren as much as we love our own relatives.

I don't personally think it has to do with biology. It's because you've known your grandson longer and their personalities are probably different! Just because you don't feel "warm fuzzies" now it doesn't mean that in a few years you

You know...I think that's it. MY grandson has always been snuggly and affectionate and my sg isn't.

Everything you describe about him tells me that you do have positive feelings for him...sometimes it just comes down to you being the very best step grandma YOU can be...and it does sound like your husband is completely supportive in this area! You sound lucky on many counts!

I think at age 3 you don't really have to do gender specific activities--you can do things like coloring, arts and crafts, puzzles, simple games, play catch.
