Had a horrible falling out with 29-year old SD whom I raised.

As far as I know, BM still just calls once a week, but am not sure. Her MO is that she lives almost 2,000 miles away and they talk once a week and see each other about once a year.

That is just odd. Sounds like you are on the right track, like DS has some issues and is trying to keep SIL apart fro the rest of you.

My only advice, stay out of it and let DH deal with it. I guess. I wish you the best!

Hmmm...I am thinking there is more to the story.

My DH and his younger brother have been estranged for almost a year.

Hard to say, but definately possible. Regardless, there are pieces missing from this puzzle that no one has given you yet. I hope you can get them but it if not, again, you may just have to accept it and hope that some day things will change.

The story just doesn't add up, and sometimes it is pointless to try and figure it out.

I hope you stick around! Very curious if you are able to get to the bottom of this.
