I need a little advice on how to handle a situation with DF's daughter (11) and my son (12).

First I think you should have a chat w/ your son that the fact that the girl hangs on you in no way means that she can steal you from him. It's just part of her personality and hopefully she will outgrow it. Frankly I do find it kind of odd that she is so clingy at that age. My cousin's DD is about 11 and I can't really see her being clingy w/ her own mom or grandma. I do wonder what that's all about, but I think her dad needs to set some boundaries w/ her. I mean it's nice to hold your hand sometimes (although 11 seems a little old for that) when you go out, but people are different in how much physical touching they like and she needs to respect that. Frankly I don't much like people hanging on me.

At first I thought she was clingy because;

1) she is a bit immature for her age still

<I think somebody needs to talk to the girl about personal space and how we can respect that and still love each other...I'm just not sure who needs to do it.
