Tink, don't worry, your ex will move on eventually.

"Holding onto regret is like dragging the weight of the past with us everywhere. It drains our energy, leaving less available for life now."

For me it has been holding on to Guilt and Shame. I don't deeply REGRET getting a divorce, although I wish things had been different, and that we had been able to work it out. I *do* feel ashamed ... some of that is because of my religious upbringing. I come from a good, honest family - and divorce is not something we do!

Although I am a "religious" person, I have to admit - it is religion that has helped me heal - and also it is religion that has kept me stuck. There are people around me that seem to have a harder time with the fact that I'm divorced than I do! Even some family members :-( It has been hurtful.

The past is the past. I did not always act perfectly in my marriage. My ex-husband was a drinker, partier, gambler - and I do believe he led a secret life at all of those bars he hung out at. I will never know the truth.

All I can do is move on - and do my very best from day to day!

CD - I hope that you can 'forgive' yourself.
