Come out come out, where ever you are!
Let us know what brought you to MSMW and what your "family" looks like today. Lurkers, please pop in and say hello! Long-timers, anything new?
My youngest is starting 7th grade next week. SO's youngest is facing a 5th year of high school if he wants a diploma. And, my grandson will be starting 1st grade! Such a little man now. My kids are DD26, DS23, DD12, GS6 and SO's kids are DD24, DD21 and DS18 and 4 GKs. I am 44 and have been M and D twice. SO is 48 and was M for 20 years.
Continue to work through various issues with SO and things are good. I am peri-menopausal, so need I say more.
I came to ivillage in 2006 and started on AAS, as SO was separated, but still married at the time. We have been together over 6 years now. No current plans to marry, but becoming more open minded to the idea.
I joined this board a year ago when I married for the 2nd time. I divorced in 2008 after 25 years and dh had been divorced since 1997 although he'd had an 8 year relationship with another woman. So, I thought I'd found a man who wasn't interested in getting married again, but I was SO wrong.
Anyway, I have 4 daughters - DD28, DD26, DD25 and DD21. DD28 lives many states away; DD26 lives 5 hours away in a neighboring state; DD25 lives in town; and DD21 is 45 minutes away at college. Dh has 3 sons - DS30, DS29, and DS19 who currently lives with us. Dh also has DGS4 who stays with us every other weekend. (Long story.)
Not much new to report here, but this board has been a life saver as being part of another family has had its challenges to say the least.
Been together 10 years---engaged/living together about 8 1/2----kind of delayed "wedding" many years ago due to my insecurities re: some issues (TOP OF LIST: he had THE proverbial "exW from H*ll" was primary----as long as I had HIM in my life, *we* had HER also----did I REALLY want to sign up for that? lol) things have calmed/quieted mostly that way, but things are fine "living together" .....so stay that way.
Have an "empty nest" here these days, although adult kids have issues/need money/frustrate parents/etc still................
SO and I enjoy doing things together, and being together, so....life is basically GOOD
WELCOME!
Looking forward to hearing more from you
Hi there....still here and I check in from time to time. I am more on the TTC boards, but I am taking a little break from trying to have a baby, since the last 2 didn't go so well!
DH & I got married in March....we have been together for 3 years total. I have a DD (13) from 1st marriage & DH has none. It would be nice if we could have on of our own, but I guess God has other plans?
Overall, things are going well....but having a teenage, hormonal DD, is a bit of a challenge, at the moment! Each day she wakes up,I wait & see how the day will be!
Kiki (hit my magic age of 45 and no longer TTC),but mom to a beautiful teen DD & 2 angels in heaven & married to my best friend
