Hi all,

since DF is buying the ring, i am starting to think about a wedding dress. how exciting!!

My first wedding in 1992 was at the JP. I bought a $60 off-white glamourized business suit. It was a top and a skirt (above the knee) (i attached a pic). I was happy with it but it wasn't a wedding dress, iykwim. My second wedding in 2002, was in a church. VERY small (11 people total, including kids). My outfit was also a top and skirt, white.

You look very glamorous there.

For my 2nd wedding I was over 40 so a traditional wedding gown would have looked kind of silly (to me anyway). But I got a bridesmaids gown that came in ivory, sleeveless. It actually had kind of a 2 piece look but was one piece. The skirt was plain but the bodice had pearl beading on it--and no train and no veil. I think it was about $200 which was much more reasonable than the bridal gowns which started at $500 & went way up.

First wedding, my matron of honor made the dresses.

I went with an ivory gown on the second wedding.

My first wedding dress was white, a ball gown, huge, heavy, and hot. However, my mother paid for it and so she had more say in the style.

My second dress was also white and a gown, but was far less elaborate. They were both moderately expensive, 175 to 300 dollars. But I wanted to wear a wedding gown both times.

Love the 90s outfit.... ;) It was glamorous back then.

For my first, I had an actual wedding dress (lemme see if I can find it). for my second, it was just a full-length dress, nothing fancy and blue. for my third, I actually picked out the fabric, the color, had it designed and made for me. Nothing fancy since we got married on a beach, but still. my own.

I doubt I have a pic of my first dress I loved. It was a Vera Wang, but before anyone gets any ideas, it was a bridesmaid dress. White, sleeveless (with wide straps), and all satin and A-line. I loved it.

Darn, couldn't find any photos. :( No fun.

BTW, strapless is in. Yuck. I'm much more of a wide strap type of person. ;)

I can't do strapless at all.
