buy a house on the same street as your EXH ?? My H and I are looking to buy a house and found the "perfect " one....only problem....it is on the same street as my EX H? ...only about three houses down..in a quiet smalltown neighborhood...It would make it a lot easier for the kids going back and forth..we have 50/50 custody..so walking back and forth instead of a 15-20 minute car ride like now....really torn on this one...

I really think I would. If everything about the house is perfect, why not? Especially with the kids and it being good for them.

It depends on how well you get along w/ your ex.

In my case, the answer would be no.

Music...I remember you sharing about your friend before. There aren't very many pools where I live, but that's exactly what I am talking about.

And the "I want to go live with dad" when she is mad at me. So yea.....too far to walk makes that all that a bit easier.

Besides, my SO just wouldn't have it. And I don't blame him. But....Malea and her DH may be an exception.

To answer everyone at once..lol....we would not see each others house from the backyard..so no problem there....as far as going back and forth ..the kids kinda do that anyway..they are 18,16 and 12 and the two older kids have their own cars...so they have been doing that for awhile. I have always been a very hands on mom and thankfully my "new " H loves to have the kids around..so them showing up a lot is not a problem. We still manange to get a date night at least once a week..regardless of where the kids are at. My XH was very controlling ..even after the divorce he tried to be for awhile but that stopped a couple years ago ..So I am not worried about that...we live in a very small town and seriously EVERYONE knows EVERYTHING anyway. We are going to go look at the inside of the house today and go from there...we havent been inside only saw pics..so maybe it really isnt what we want on the inside.

Its really kind of crazy...we have been leasing a house with the intention of buying it..we have been in it 3 years and would have equity in it upon buying it. But it is on a couple acres. It is set up for horses and we have decided we dont want animals...we love the current house and location...but we also like to go places and dont want to be tied down to a place..so this other one would work out a lot better. We are looking at it this afternoon..Ill keep you updated :)
