Greetings all, First off I would like to thank the creators of this site and specifically this forum. There are a lot of relationships out there that differ from what most would consider the "social norm." It is wonderful to see that there is a place where people of all types can go to get help and support from other like-minded people.

That being said, please allow me to introduce myself. I am a 44 year old man who has been in a relationship with a woman near 25 years younger than me for close to a year now. She is and always has been a legal adult since before our relationship began. I thank the gods for that because if I had met her a year earlier in our lives I would not have gotten to know her at all let alone fallen in love with her. As we learn more about each other everyday, our love grows deeper and stronger. We have already had to overcome some challenges that I feel are probably pretty normal in a relationship like ours. Most notably is the challenge of her parents. Because she is so young her parents have not had enough time to adjust to not controlling her life for her. Unfortunately, they have chosen not to hear what she is telling them and have convinced themselves that I am manipulating her for sex. That, however, could not be further from the truth. She is exceptionally wise and mature for her age and we TALK about everything. Our relationship is based primarily on love and open-honest communication. We feel that it has to be, and that life would be happier in general if more people would be open and honest as well.

We are moving into making more serious and permanent choices for our lives together. Hopefully, by the end of the year if not sooner, we will live together full-time and then when she is ready, we will marry. Being that I am the older person in the relationship, I am fully aware of how I feel about her and that will never change, so I have made it clear to her (and anyone else who asks) that this relationship will progress at HER speed, always. So far, we have traveled hand-in-hand at the same pace and I think that adds to our happiness. I look forward to hopefully making some new friends here and having her join me on this site if and when she is ready. I wish to everyone, no matter the flavor of your life and relationship, happiness and joy, so long as it does not come at the expense of another. Be well, and may all of your life's journeys be safe and full of joy.
