Okay, I have to admit that I'm freaking out just a teeny bit.

I'm totally a worrier, too, so I would be in your shoes as well. As hard as it is to not worry about it right now, I would definitely suggest trying to not worry about it until they actually tell you that they are going to try to sell it again. Since she said you want to continue leasing, maybe that WILL solve the issue and you'll be fine :-) If you do end up having to move, we could make the trip to Augusta one weekend to help, so don't worry about that part.

P.S. Love your new siggy with the yellow ribbon!

Sending you good house vibes!

I understand your worry. I'm a worrier too. Last year, my landlord told me after 5 years he was selling my place to his son. I ended up buying a place in the same neighborhood a few months later, but I felt very unsettled at first having the moving decision made for me instead of it being my choice. It was probably for the best in the end, as I got a tax incentive and I love my new place so much more (kinda wish I'd moved sooner!), but still...moving is a pain! I hope it works out in your favor!

You're too sweet, Megan. It's a definite relief to have that offer on the table in case its needed. But, like you suggested, I really am trying (somewhat successfully, so far) to put it out of my head. It's not like I can do anything to change it. However, if I don't get a definitive "yes, you can lease it, and we won't be trying to sell it" answer in the next few weeks, I do think I'm going to postpone the big sort-of-cross-country trip (Illinois, Oklahoma, Minnesota) Toby and I were going to take right after his birthday until after we've actually renewed our lease or moved. I don't want to spend all the money for the trip and then end up having to dig even more into our savings to pay for new deposits, people to move the really big stuff (like our bed and my piano), etc. (You'd like I'd have less/smaller furniture since we're supposed to have a somewhat mobile lifestyle!)

Oh, and thanks for the siggy compliment. The CL of Signature Showcase made it for me. I figured I really, really needed a new one. I'd been doing without for awhile because I just didn't have a good idea and because my last one was well over a year old. I finally got the idea for this one this morning, and luckily, she was able to do it right away!

And thank you, Chelle. I called my mom just to hear her tell me to calm down (because that helps somehow), and she was kind of laughing at me. I have faced so much worse at other times when Tom has been gone, so it was kind of strange for her to hear me so worried about this at the mere mention of it. I guess, like you said, it's just because it's not on my terms. I'm good with challenges, but I like to be able decide I'm going to take them on. It doesn't always work that way, but it's my preferred method.

I'm sending you all the vibes you need to "keep the house or make your move an easy one to an even MORE amazing place". Hang in there.

Sending lots of good house vibes Mel. I can only imagine how you are feeling right now.

DH and I were just talking about something like this. We're looking for houses on militarybyowner to rent when we move and we are trying to avoid that ones that are both for sale and for lease because of exactly this type of situation, but we'll do what we need to do. Some of those houses are really nice and hard to resist. I really hope it all works out for the best for you guys!!
