Hello everyone. I am new to the whole deployment situation and to the military-type boards. I married my ARNG dh, Damon, in Feb. because he was to be activated in March. His activation began March 17th and he was at the mobilization station until 2:30 this morning, when they got on a plane to finally leave for Kuwait. His orders are for one year, but right now it looks like they are scheduled to be overseas for 6 months. Needless to say, after the phone call at 2:30 this morning, I'm having a bit of a rough day. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and I hope to get to know a few of you!

Hi Maggie!

I am Jenn, my DH was activated in Feb and was supposed

to have gone overseas a while ago, but something happened

and his unit has been stuck at the mobe station ever since.

Now they are saying sometime in June. This is rough, isn't it?

Hopefully your DH will only be over for a short time. We will all

make it through this! We can all help each other.

Big hugs to you!

Thanks for the posting Jenn! You're right, this definitely is tough. You know, one of the toughest things I found while my dh was still at the mobe station was that they let him come home sometimes for weekends (4 hr drive) and then once more right before they left. It was SO hard to say goodbye to him each time, not knowing if it was the last time we would be able to say goodbye. I am almost relieved that he finally left this morning, but I feel so down also. Sometimes the stress is almost unbearable, with graduate school, moving, and my step-daughter, but it will be okay in the end. We'll all get through it...and be much stronger for it.

Hugs!

Maggie

First of all huge ((Hugs)) Maggie! And welcome to the board. I know how hard this day has been on you. But honestly, it will get better. My dh was at the Mobe station for two months. He also got to come home several times. And all of those goodbyes were rough. But look at this way, your dh is gone now. That is one step closer to him coming home. And if you keep that positive attitude of yours, you'll be just fine! Just hang in there. And post often! We're here to help each other get through these difficult times.

Hi Maggie, welcome to the board. Multiple good byes are VERY hard, we did it alot in the past 19 months with my DH being activated, getting to come home a couple of times a month, he just returned to our state from a 3 month deploy though and so I guess I will now be happy with the multiple goodbyes again.

HUGS
