Advice please- husband thinking of joining the military

I agree that this decision is only for you two to make. I think both of your families will come around if this is the path you go down.

It is so easy to stay in touch with family now. Is it the same as being there in person? Not at all. But, cell phones, email, instant messagers, Skype, etc all help in easily staying connected.

It is inevitable that he will be gone. Besides deployments there are field exercises, schools, TDYs, duties, and all kinds of other things that will keep him away. You have to be ok with that and he also has to be ok with possibly missing special occasions or big milestones.

Are there any specific questions you have? What branch is he looking into?
