I'm at Ft. Hood. We don't have to have the stickers. You do have to show your military ID. I don't think it has been like that very long.

That's cool. We still have our stickers from Ft Hood, and we were there 2.5 years ago.

We're at Lewis now, and we have to have them. We also have to show military ID. Civilian ID isn't acceptable. If I forget my military ID at home, I won't be able to get on base.

The reason I asked was a friend said she has to get stickers. I thought you didn't have to have them anymore! LOL!

so I thought Ask here! :-)

so I guess I might per base then!

While in OH we stopped getting right before we moved which was 8yrs ago, here in FL we haven't got one yet. After 9/11 they are making you show your ID so why have a sticker.

Now do you have just the "base sticker" or do you have both the base sticker and a year??

thanks ya!

We are at Ft Rucker, AL, and you have to get stickers. You also had to get stickers at Ft. Drum. I know at Offutt AFB in Omaha, NE you don't have to have stickers though.

We had to have them when we first got to Florida 4 years ago but while we were there they stopped using them. We just got to Alaska and they don't use them here.

My father was telling me that the AF got rid of the decals. So to get on their bases you just need an ID.

I have decals on my cars, I don't HAVE to have them but they make life SO MUCH EASIER since I do. I pull up to the gates, they see the decal and wave me through. I almost never have to show my ID.

"Now do you have just the "base sticker" or do you have both the base sticker and a year??"

We have 3 stickers total: 1 with a month, 1 that has our sticker number and a barcode, and 1 with a year. It's not specific to this base, as I said, we got ours at Ft Hood, but I have seen stickers from here at Lewis that specifically say Ft Lewis on them.

From my understanding, since Lewis and McChord joined up, stickers and ID are required to get on both. Don't quote me on that one, though, because I'm not 100% positive. Maybe someone on the McChord/AF side can comment on that?

I had to go check my truck. We had to get stickers when we got to Fort Riley last summer. We have 4 stickers. One says DoD and has a registration number, one says Fort Riley, one has a month, and the last one has a year. Even with that, I still have to show my ID when I go through the gate.
