Disrespectful Photo at Arlington National Cemetery Posted to FB

This woman made an extremely poor decision by posting a disrespectful photo to her personal Facebook page taken at Arlington National Cemetery in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Not only did she purposely pose for the photo and upload it to her Facebook page, but the trip was paid for by her company.  Now, it looks like her job is in jeopardy.

Do you think that her behavior should cost her her job?

There are somethings that just should not be done. That was one of them. She is not a child. Her actions were totally disrespectful! Her employer thought so too and no longer wanted her to be apart of their staff.

She should absolutely face some punishment, although I'm not sure if it's losing her job. Working in a service industry has requirements that go beyond what other industries require. If she were an accountant or a receptionist somewhere, I doubt anyone would care. But she works on behalf of others and is representing a non-profit company who does good work and relys on reputation within society. As such her behaviors reflect on her employer and charges and punishment makes sense.

How stupid of the woman! When are people going to learn to stop posting inappropriate photos of themselves on FB? It was a company trip paid for by the company. She engaged in completely unprofessional behavior, documented it with a photo, then splashed it up on the internet for the whole world to see. I don't know about anyone else but I would expect to lose my job if I did that.

I don't think it should cost her her job, but seeing how the trip was paid for and sponsored by the company she works for, a reprimand is in order.  I was also told that appearances mean everything, and when you represent a company, and you do something that makes them look bad, then there are consequences for your actions.  Perhaps if she had done this on her own personal vacation, she would not be getting as much grief. However, having visited Arlington,  I remember it being such a somber place.  I could not imagine acting in such a way there.

I think everyone is taking this way too seriously. She explained that she wasn't disrespecting the soldiers. Instead, she was thumbing her nose at the sign and authority in general. In our country, we have the freedom of speech. As idiotic as I think her behavior was (to post the photo on the Internet), her life shouldn't be ruined forever over it. She shouldn't lose her job, and I think all of the 16,000 (or however many there are now) people who like the "Fire Lindsey" page need to calm down.

I'm leaning towards yes because she was on a company paid trip. If this would have been on her personal time and money, then I might feel differently.

I saw a news story this morning about this. Considering that she works in a nursing home, and probably takes care of veterans. she used extremely poor taste. I'm sure she regrets doing this, but... I can't blame the company if she loses her job over it. Too bad that her name is being splashed all over the news since it will make it very hard for her to get a new position.
