"Senate Adopts Stevens Amendment to Increase Imminent Danger and Family Separation Pay for U.S. Troops"

It would increase Imminent Danger to $225, and separation pay from $100 a month to $250. Wow what a difference that would make.

And it will be retroactive to October 1, 2002.

Keep praying this makes it throught the house and on to President Bush's desk in a timely fashion...

Wow! That is a BIG difference! We'd all MUCH rather have our DH's home than have $200 a month or whatever it is, of course, but Congress is trying.

My DH just told me about it. He said to expect a $900 check in our account soon, because of it. DH has been gone way too long!

Needless to say, it is all going towards his car to get it paid off. But that makes us $900 closer to him getting it paid off, and me no longer having to hear him complain about it. He will then start complaining about my car. LOL. But that is ok. At the rate we are going, we should be debt free (except for our mortgage), with in 2 years! No more Credit Cards, no more Cadet Loan, no more Car Payments!!!!!!!!!! I think once we get it all paid off, it will free up about $1200 a month. That Cadet Loan is a big chunk each month. LOL.

Also, when we get his Car paid off, we can refinance my car for a lower APR. Woohoo!

Whoo hoo!! The positive DH and I keep looking at is the longer he is away the more money we can put down on debt etc. This will help out a lot...it is amazing how far $200-300 American can go on a Canadian bill. lol
