Starting next week I will have a lovely 5 week vacation from work and school and every day life :). BUT DH still has to work so I will be in a town where I don't know anybody and don't really know what to do. Furthermore, I never have free time so I rather don't know what I am going to do with myself. I am planning on getting a library card, and I'm taking lots of books of my own (I have not gotten to read for fun in so long!!).

I take the puppies out to play, walk, dog parks, etc... Even just go for a drive to explore a new area! I take my sweet time painting my nails, reading, people watching at a happenin' coffee spot, etc. Maybe take up scrap booking or some other easy hobby. Find somewhere to volunteer? Work makes me a huge bum on my days off, so half the time I don't want to cook, but trying out new meals is always fun:)

When I wasn't working & with DH for a couple months while he did his schools I found lots of fun, free things to do in the local community. I'd search online & check local newspapers for craft fairs, free music events,

I wish I was going to have my dog there! I would have no problem taking her out to play all day, every day, but she can't come with me! DH's apartment doesn't allow dogs, so she is staying here with my mom :( .

Thanks! Ill have to pick up a paper when I get there first thing. I'll be at Camp Pendleton in California which is close to San Diego so I'm sure there are loads of free/inexpensive things to do there.
