My mother's friend is related to one of the soldiers.

We are heartbroken to learn of this man's death. His family had such high hopes--- he was seen alive as recently as Monday by PFC Jessica Lynch. However, the chaplain recently arrived to break the terrible news to his mother.

Of course, this has affected every American. To me, it's very personal. I can identify with PFC Lynch --- I was in a transportation unit. Convoys were our specialty! In addition, I worked in supply. As I have heard more and more about the ambush, it has become that more personal. I put the faces of my platoon members to those who were ambushed--- and I literally wept. I cannot imagine losing my entire squad, watching them be injured and worse... Naturally my imagination and memories do not at all compare to what these soldiers went through. My heart goes out to them and all of their families.

God Bless,

Amy
