This has come up recently because of this issue I brought up in my latest MIL rant (sorry to those of you who are sick of hearing about her).

You have a right to control which pictures are shared.

Hi Jess,
We have a 6 month old son (our first) born 8/4/10. We make a blog and post pics on there. I usually post about three of the best pics each blog post I do (blogger.com). When our son was first born I posted each week until he was about 7 weeks or so, then I started doing monthly blog posts because it was all I could get around to doing, each post I put three of the best pics for that month. It is great because family can check in on their own each month, plus they can send the blog link to whomever they want.
I agree with you I don't like having someone else in charge of photos of my child! The worst was my FIL's girlfriend who visited at Christmas, took tons of photos of our son and family and then posted them on her facebook page without asking! I would really try the blog idea, then it is on them to check it!
hope this helps and congrats on your soon to be little one:-)

Wow, I'm starting to think we have the same MIL...

I know when I share pictures of Caroline I download the pictures to my computer and email the ones I want people to have.

What if you open the account and only add photos you want her to be able to access?

I have a shutterfly account that has about 7000 photos of teagan. I think it's great, people can pick and choose what they want which takes that stress off me.
