I agree with you, Jess.
Now is not the time to make life even harder for military families.
I could think of a lot of other things in the military budget that could be cut out before they start upping prices for healthcare and freezing pay.

I suggested to Brad the other day that if the military is spending way too much extra money, why don't they just suspend the Blue Angels/Thunderbirds/Golden Knights/etc type programs for a few years?
Yeah, we're in the same boat with this cleft issue with our baby.
I couldn't agree more about the deployments. What about the guys they send over that could do their job from the states. I get that soldiers tend to feel better getting information from people that are actually over there, but sending hundreds of guys overseas when they could do the same job at home is stupid.I really hope they don't mess with our health coverage. I can understand the basic pay because I've worked in places that didn't give a raise each year. It sucks, but it's doable. One of the major reasons DH is considering reenlistment is for the healthcare. If they are going to mess it up, it might just change his opinion on reenlistment.
As far as base schools go, I can understand them doing away with them being run by the DoD. My son's school is on post, but it is part of the local school district and the school district is responsible for the building, it's upkeep, and the teacher's pay.
As long as they KEEP the schools on post here, I'm okay with whatever they do there. I will NOT send my kids to the attrocious crap they call schools here. NO FREAKING WAY. DH will be a geo bachelor and I'll go back to Atlanta.
Are your schools run by the DoD or the local school district? If it's run by the DoD, how big of a difference is it from a normal school? All of the schools DS has been to have been run by local school districts. We've never been stationed where they have schools run by the DoD.
