My doctor scheduled us an appointment to get things rolling with the cleft team in Birmingham, but I spent all morning on the phone dealing with the runaround that Tricare is giving us.

I'm so sorry you are having difficulties dealing with Tricare. It's so frustrating when they only look at the numbers and forget that you are human beings dealing with an emotional and scary issue. I hope they stop jerking you around so much, Jess.

Good luck with the appointment on Friday. You will be in my thoughts.

P&PT's for Friday. Sorry Tricare is being a butt. They do it to everyone. When I lived in Nor Cal for one of DH's deployments I tried to pick a PCM for J in Carson City (25 miles from where I was) they said NO I couldn't go there... why? it was in a different state I HAD to take her to Sacramento (100 miles away). It was the stupidest thing I've heard to date. Tricare enjoyed 4 ER visits during that time. I wasn't driving 100 miles for an ear infection...I hope they enjoyed the $2000 bill (times 4!). :D

If push comes to shove you can switch to Standard, yes then you pay some out of pocket but you get to self refer. Oh they want you to go to pensacola? Yeah...no you don't have to.

I was going to suggest switching to Standard as well!

As long as you have a referal to that doctor Tricare will cover it thru standard. All you pay is for like a flu shot, a rogam shot(if needed) and then like $17 a day that you are in the hospital. Evey had a spot on her heart and I went to a parinatalogist(I think whatever the specialty doc for baby's in womb are called) and never paid a dime.

Either way prayers that all goes well and Tricare gets it worked out:-)
