DH is running around like a mad man trying to get everything done for this new application and to prepare some forms that I'll need to have while he is gone to apply for my adjustment of status etc. I feel so bad for him. He leaves in a matter of days and is dealing with all of this along with his regular duties and getting ready for deployment. Hopefully everything we are doing turns out. Something has to work out at some point for us right?
Also found out that there may be complications with my car because my car loan is in Canada. I've had two different stories on that one today but I'm going to stick with the positive one that came from the county office in CO. The lady there told me that it didn't matter where my loan was at, even out of country was okay. Oh and get this! I have to write an examination and take a driver's test before getting issued a CO drivers license! You know I'm going to fail that puppy!! lol Thank God they don't charge for the tests and my Alberta drivers license is still valid while I'm in the process of getting a CO one. lol
Oh, and I found out that I've contracted the plague. The doctor has me under house arrest and on 1500mg of amoxicillin a day for two weeks! I asked when I can return to work or go out and he said not until I feel better. Thank goodness they can't fire a person twice from their job eh?
So now I sit here on the couch, coughing up a lung, and trying to learn everything I can about this new visa and line up all the papers to make it happen.

Now if I could just get warmed up!

Hope you feel better soon. Hope DH is successfull in getting you the forms and such that you need!
Huge hugs! Jill
I don't see why you should have a problem as far as your car loan goes. We shipped our F150 back from the UK and our loan for it is held by a bank in Germany. We've had no problems getting it registered or anything.
Maybe this will be the one thing that goes right!!
I took the Missouri driving test when I got here and it is a darn site easier than the British version, The test was common sense stuff and I even got a lady trooper to drive with.
I'll be thinking of you and sending speed up vibes to the INS!!!

Take care!

Did find out that I can "lie" to the Montana DMV and get a MT driver's license without rewriting or redoing the driving test. Just a quick switch across the counter. Have to show that I'm living in MT but she said a letter or a bill will do. I can arrange for that to happen. They will then mail me the permanent to the MT address I give. The license will then be sent to me in CO so I can do a switch down there. I'm not sure I'll do it but it will make things easier when I get to CO. I will do anything to reduce the running around and paper work I will have to do when I move.
Now I'm going back to bed...still feel like I may die.

I am glad you got the INS part almost squared away... that's a small victory. I have been a legal alien (that's what INS calls me) in this country for 12 years, and dread dealing with INS. There is nothing I dread more than INS, so I don't envy your situation. I just wanted to say, use proper legal procedures to get your driver's license. If you're caught taking short cuts, it may jeopardize your INS application. They may not bar you from this country but they can sure make your life hell. Have I totally managed to put a damper on things? Hope you get here soon.
I hope it all works out and you get there really soon! I also hope you feel better soon! How scary! Rest and get well!
Hugs
