Why do I always attract the stupid idiot people?! Why? Why? Why? It seems that no matter where I go I attract the people who want to debate the war with me or want to belittle my husband for joining the Army! I don't know about you guys, but I'm proud of my husband for being a soldier & protecting our country! Just need to vent for a minute cause ya'll are the only ones who would understand why this would piss me off!

I was getting out of my car last night at the gas station & this guy came up to me and asked me if I seriously thought putting a little flag magnet on the back of my car was an appropriate way of supporting our troops. At first I just ignored him (I'm kind of used to stupid people) He then told me that I should be ashamed of myself for not finding a way to support them more than just a stupid little flag on my car! That's when I lost it! I told him that my husband is Army & is stationed overseas (granted he's in Korea & not Iraq, but he didn't need to know that) and that I support our troops 110%! And who was he to ask me about supporting our troops! If he felt that strongly why wasn't HE over there fighting with our troops? He just looked at me and walked away! If you're gonna start a fight with me, you should be man enough to finish it, don't ya think?!

Ok, done venting...am I the only one who attracts these stupid people? I tend to find them EVERY where I go!

I'm sorry to hear that you've had to deal with those kind of people. I've had some people say some pretty stupid things to me as well. Overall, I think they mean well, but obviously they don't think before they speak. They are only making themselves look stupid. I don't know what to say to these people so I don't say anything at all. It's getting to the point where I don't even want to leave my house so that I don't run into this. I have enough to worry about and trying to figure out what to say to these people is the last thing I need. I'm sorry that I don't have any advice on how to avoid these people and their stupid comments.

Oh, I wish I could have been a fly on the wall... or the gas pump as the case was. LOL What kind of an IDIOT asks such a weird and stupid question? Your answer was perfect though. Boy, I thought stupid people sought ME out, but apparently I've been replaced. You win. LOL

I can't stand stupid people either!! AND how the HECK did he even know that you haven't done more than a "little flag magnet"? I'm sorry, but does he live in your house, in your shoes? Does he know how you spend your days and nights? Does he know whether or not you have sent care packages or done whatever you can to support the troops? And the troops in Iraq are not the only ones who need our support! Supporting your husband is supporting your troops too. UGH I can't stand people who think they can just jump all over a stranger and judge them when they have no clue!!!!

Great comeback to the guy, by the way! Good for you. I like a woman who stands up for herself hehehe.

I know how you feel. Some ppl want to let you know how they feel about war and troops. I live just outside post so I tend to get more support than anything. Which tends to be a bit much every now and then. But when I go home, to my small town, ppl want to moan and groan about the war. So I know how you feel. Really I do. I just stop and tell them that my loving dh is overseas fighting so that they can walk around and complain. He is missing out on the important things in our sons life and he won't be home for our second anniversary this year. He wasn't home last year either. After that if they still want to say anything I tell them to go and enlist and my dh can come home, (which I know he wouldn't, he may not like it but he wouldn't leave his unit uncomplete.) they usually leave me alont after that. But I so know how you feel.

The stupid people annoy me too. But I figure for every stupid ignorant person there is a pure hearted person proudly waving a Flag at a Support our Troops rally somewhere.

LOVED your comeback for that stupid guy, though! You go girl!

Hell no, you aren't the only one. You should try living in Canada!!! lol Way to go on that one though Jen. I think you handled the jerk very well...does he think pumping gas is supporting the troops? I'd say that he looked just about perfect to join and that I'd be happy to introduce him to a local recruiter since he was so concerned.

Hope today gets better.

OMG I agree what a stupid stupid man. Sorry you had to deal with him. And to not even say he was sorry for jumping the gun was just as rude as starting the argument in the first place.

Jen--I think I would have responded in the same way. I have a flag in the rear window of my car. It's there for 9/11 as well as our military---basically because I love my country & I am proud to live here & am proud of what my husband does. If someone got in my face @ the gas station I think I would have pulled out my id & pics of DH & waved them in his face as well as gone off like you did! LOL
