Because that's how I feel right now.

I'm proud of my career and the work I do but right now, i wish i never had to work another day in my life.

Nance it seems to me you have been unhappy and very stressed at this job for a while now.

Dh said the same thing ... and I agree with you both. I know I should at least go and talk to them and see what it's all about before i totally disregard it.

I think my initial internal argument had been ... well try to weigh the pros/cons now and then you won't waste anyone's time.

and you and lori are both totally right ... everything DOES happen for a reason and i need to just make sure i make the choice that's best for me.

Well Nance,

I think that your best bet would be to go to an interview at the new place - even if it just ends up being for the practice and experience....

Well, it sounds like you have your bases covered either way. I think you basically need to do some major soul searching. I find that when you are in the job that's right for you, motivational problems are much more scarce. I agree that you should seek advice from those who are "in the know," but it really boils down to what will make Nance happy. From experience, I can tell you that I've had 3 jobs that at a point I just had this feeling down in my gut that I wasn't where I was supposed to be.

Here's hoping your wedding business takes OFF! :)

I think you hit the nail on the head. i AM trying to figure out if i have more good days than bad days. I'm also trying to figure out if i'm just going through a bad spot, where i'm unmotivated and unhappy because of external factors (DH's schedule, stress at home etc.)

Actually, since you bring it up ... I have a potential offer on the table. It's for a director position for a high-level department for the State of New York. I haven't interviewed yet but i sent in a resume earlier this year (yup, way back in early 2003) because a friend who works there now encouraged me to do so and they

Nance, we all have those days! And I guess the trick is figuring out if you have more of those (bad) days than you do good days. It's no good hating to go to work every day. BTDT, and it's terrible. If you're increasingly unsatisfied where you are, with your talent and skill, I'm sure you'd be able to find something in a minute that would make you happy. If it's just a bad time right now, here's a hug and hopes that it passes quickly. Either way, I'm hoping for brighter days ahead for you!

I'm with ya there Nance!!! I've hated working for a while now!! Actually, not caring for the job itself... but it pays the bills and I keep getting raises!!! So, for now, I tolerate it. I'll be cutting my hours though once I have the wee-one in May...

Maybe by then, I'll have the wedding/special event planning business up and running and I'll have clients beating down the door (won't that be nice??)
