Do you watch "cop shows" on TV?

My uncle is a retired officer, and I recently found out that his wife wouldn't watch "cop shows" on TV (reality or fictional) because she felt it would do nothing but feed her imagination.

I don't know...I've never watched it. My 13 y/o dd is hooked on Grey's, however. I brought her to work with me on "Take Your Child to Work" day and she was helping one of the paramedics check his rig at the start of the shift. She could tell him what every piece of equipment was, and pretty much how or why it was used...and that was just stuff she's picked up from watching Grey's. So there must be at least some accuracy to it...either that or she pulled a good snow job on him :D

Oh, yes. Medical shows were something I remember watching with my mom while she would critique them. I wonder how accurate shows like Grey's Anatomy are as far as the surgeries and things go, too.

I watch most cop shows and they only bother me once in a while. Like Southland when an officer died on duty. It was an emotional episode and I think would get to almost anybody.

What bugs me about watching those shows with my hubby is that he goes through picking out the details that are wrong with them. And when watching reality shows like Cops I have to hear all of the stupid things these cops might be doing wrong. Annoying.

I hardly watch tv, but I do like the "live action" cops shows, if I happen to catch one. You're right, you can't solve a crime in an hour, but it's sure seeing how other people's reality isn't always compatible with the law ;-)

I do. They don't make my imagination run wild...I do that well enough on my own. LOL. My husband doesn't like them though. In his words, crimes can't be solved in an hour.
