Well I'm not sure I am going to separate, but I'm closer today than any other time before.
I am also stuck in the limbo of ambivalence. Would you mind summarizing the exercise that helped you tip the scales in favor of decision to separate?

that is just it--- you cant understand, b/c you WOULD never put your family in jeopardy, you would never make the decision to betray your spouse.. that is why you cant understand... these cheaters think differently then us....there is something wrong WITH THEM!!

I think only you can answer that question!!! my stbx had 3 affairs during our 5 year relationship, we were married for 2 of those years.... i have been separated for almost 9 months and i have to tell you staying with a cheater is harder then leaving... it seems like you are understanding that... 27 years is a VERY long time to be with someone, BUT it sounds like you are ready to take that step and do something for you... you need a life that will be filled with contentment, security and happiness and it doesn't sound like you can get that staying in your situation.... have you gone for IC?? i would start there, if you decide to leave you want to ensure you are in
