First, I'm sorry that you are dealing with this.
Just imagine someone else in your family going through this. I'm sure you would want them to do what they needed to do to keep themselves safe and to get themselves out of a bad situation.
We all make mistakes; it is how we handle our mistakes when we discover them that really matters.
Hopefully they will see you as wise and brave for doing what you need to do for yourself despite any fears you may have.
