There is never a time when I don't have a choice.
I choose my thoughts; therefore, I can change my thoughts or I can choose to have no thoughts at all. I have that power within me.
I can choose to think about the past, I can choose to worry about the future, or I can choose to live in the present moment...even if it's ONLY for a moment...then I can choose it again. I have that power within me.
I can choose to look at my current life situation as a disaster or as an opportunity for personal growth to fulfill my highest notion of Who I Really Am. I have that power within me.
I can choose to Be happy. I know that 'happiness' is a State of Being. Even if it's only for a moment, I can choose to Be happy. I have that power within me.
I can choose to react to what has happened to me in my life by continuing to live unconsciously, or I can choose to consciously create my life. I have that power with me.
If any of this means anything to anybody, then please, do yourself and the people you love a favor. Go to your local book store and get the latest book by Neale Donald Walsch "When Everything Changes, Change Everything". Pick up Eckhart Tolle's books "The Power of Now", "Stillness Speaks", and/or "A New Earth". These last books are also on CDs. I have found them invaluable for changing my thoughts and for leading me to find the peace and power that is within me. This is not a 'pie in the sky' idea. Learning how the mind and the ego works in our lives gives us the power to make changes in our lives...power that is desperately needed by the majority of people on this board. Dday and its aftermath takes a toll on our emotional well-being. The sooner we can regain some semblance of balance, the sooner we can heal.
