Why do we have Valentine's Day?

Several times now I've browsed some of the Valentine's Day cards in the stores. And came out empty handed. What do you do when you simply cannot find a card that says anywhere NEAR what you need for it to say? I normally adore the mushy, romantic things. But sorry, this year I just do not have that feeling and am really struggling to find any card that suits me. DH is trying hard, as for myself half the time I am still so angry with him I don't quite know how to deal with it. At least I've got an appt. set up with the therapist I found last spring, DH has been seeing her longer than me now. DH is likely to make a bit of a fuss on VD this year, since he pretty much blew it last year and I TOLD him so. It seems kinda onery to consider not even getting him a card, and I ain't making one, been there, done that, not this time, also not faking feeling all lovey-dovey, either.

I have a feeling this card thing is more common than I imagine.

I would ask him what his plans are for VD so you have expectations. You could decide not to celebrate, or make a cake or just get a small gift and no card if you don't want to express how you feel right now.

I'm not looking forward to Valentine's either.

Don't even get me started on Valentine's Day! Yeah, it's really hard to find an appropriate card.

My problem is that it was Valentine's weekend when he consummated his cyber-affair with his long-term AP. She went with him on a business trip. I know it wasn't purposely on V-Day, and it was a long time ago, but I still can't muster up the grace to celebrate it. Not sure I'll ever want to.

So, Bah humbug!
