Was having a pretty good day today. I saw a good friend I hadn't seen in awhile last night, and actually took my mind of my ex for awhile.

At work today I said something about my ex... I accidentally called him my boyfriend, then corrected myself. A coworker said, "Oh, you two broke up? I knew you two wouldn't get married. People our age just always say stuff like that." (I'm 21)

I took offense to that, maybe I shouldn't have. I don't know, it just sucks that a little comment like that can totally throw off my day.

Thanks for letting me vent...

Wow --- that was pretty insensitive. Heart break it still heart break at any age. I had my first serious heartbreak at 14, my second one at 24, at my third and last at 42. I had a neighbor friend of mine tell me "oh, you'll find someone else --- it's not like you're a dog or anything" and "Well, he was the first guy you dated after your divorce", like he was some practice run or something. I just had to laugh, what else could I do. How about just saying "I know you waited a long time to find someone special and I'm sorry you are hurting".

Anyway, sorry it ruined your day. It is understandable. ((hugs))

That was pretty insensitive. I know it is hard but try not to let it get to you. It sounds like this coworker is jealous or envious maybe because he/she has never been in love before or had a relationship like yours. Stay strong and try to ignore people who are negative and bring you down. I know its easier said then done right? Do your best and try not to dwell on it. It will get better.
