Best Thing About Breaking Up

I thought this would be a good discussion, what is the best thing you've done (or know of a friend or someone doing) after a breakup for themselves? Whether it be losing weight, going back to school, moving somewhere you've always wanted to go etc...

For me, I have done some soul searching these past few weeks after my past two failed relationships (dated a guy for a year up until February and then dated another guy for 4 months up until a few weeks ago, both were classic commitment phobes). I am seriously contemplating a move to another city (Chicago) this summer, there are several reasons I want to go there in particular, one of which is the opportunity to try and do something I've always wanted to do (I actually almost did this a few years ago but did not and then I met my first ex and sort of lost track of my direction). I realized I have not been happy with MY life and that's also probably why I've also been attracting these not so fantastic guys. It is wierd, when I think about moving and starting anew and doing these things I don't even care about him anymore or actually even dating at the moment.

I was just curious if anyone had these sort of "realizations" after a break up and what you did about them..

The best things about breaking up...

I lost weight.. I am smaller than I was in high school.

I went back to school... I would not be able to get a Masters and have a high maintance boyfriend.

I don't go out to eat as much, so I am saving money.

I guess it has its perks! :)

However, the list of things I miss could go on and on....

The best thing about realizing that my now ex bf is a moron and that i deserve better:

-I lost weight

-I found a hobby

-I am happier (no one is calling me names)

-I sleep better

-I can have sexual fantasies with other men without feeling guilty.

-People is actually telling me that I look better (I am not depressed all the time)

-The future does not look as depressing as of yesterday...

-I can see that he took me for granted and made a HUGE mistake LOL

Should I say more?
