Breaking bad habits?

I am having a very difficult time letting go. The evenings and weekends are actually ok. I do not call him, ever. If I get the urge to, I take my dog for a walk, or go running, or do something active to get my mind off things.
What is hard is during the day at work. I was use to emailing all day long. I still have kept in contact with emails every once in awhile, or a random text here or there. He responds every time, but rarely initiates contact himself. I want to stop. It is only prolonging the hurt and not allowing me to move on, which is what I know I need to do
I feel like the emails are addictive. I cannot help but think about emailing. I have been fighting the urge all morning. I know it will get easier as time goes on, but breaking this email habit is just very difficult.
Any suggestions on how I can do this while at work? I am on my computer literally all day.

Welcome to the board phili2004,
Is he still in your contact list, email list, if so remove him.
