Divorce after 2 months...normal??

My husband of two months literally threw me out for no apparent reason except that he has taken on a very controlling persona and questions my every move, disapproves of my work attire (I'm a 40 something business woman and proud of myself, so I like to dress up for work...skirts, etc. - he claims I dress too "sexy" - I never wear anything that reveals "too much"...I'm actually conservative compared to other co-workers), refuses to let me take a job that requires some travel for conferences, etc.. He also says that I am too friendly because I tend to touch a person on the arm or shoulder - he thinks I should be more "hands-off".

Anyway, I felt that I could no longer be treated this way, not to mention all of the name calling as well as "you're my wife now, so start acting like it!"...too much for this old girl to take!

Am I out of line here? I'm totally confused by his reactions - I'm just stunned by it all. Is this the norm for all men?

Welcome to the board loli_ana,

No, it's really not normal. Probably normal for someone that is controlling, but for the rest of us, it's not.

Your husband's reactions are so completely out of the norm of what I'm used to in **ALL** the men I've personally known in my life, whether that's famly, friends, or loves, that I'd say he's *abnormal* and you're definitely not out of line for saying you won't take that kind of treatment. It actually confuses me that you'd have to ask if all men are like this? The answer is, "Most definitely NOT!"

I'm bettng you're confused because he probably hid all this controlling persona from you before you got married? That's bordering on psychotic in my personal opinion. He did you a favor for sure showing his colors only two months into the marriage. I'm not all that sure this relationship, marriage or not, is worth saving? What do you think?

Good luck,
