Do I say anything for his birthday?

I've written to you all before and truly appreciate your honest opinions...so here goes again. My boyfriend of 2 years broke up with me 5 weeks ago. I was blindsided by this as I thought I saw a future with him. He has 2 more years of medical school, he's about a 4 hour drive away and we had been seeing each other at least once per month. After he told me that he wanted to break up, he texted and emailed me once, but I didn't respond. I was on line about a week ago and he wrote "hi"...so I quickly signed off. I had thought about sending him a letter which spoke to the fact that I was in shock and that I was disappointed cause he wasn't who I thought he was, but decided not to send it. So basically, I'm just ignoring him. And anyway, it's not that he's trying so hard to contact me. I do still miss him and I'm am trying very hard to go out and keep busy. I'm not sulking and depressed...I have pushed myself to move on. In fact, I was out this past weekend and one of his friends came into the club I was at, just when I was talking to a few guys...so that made me feel good. The question I have is that his birthday is coming up...how do I handle it?...ignore it..I suppose? Just send an email and say happy birthday..or that's not right?? I'm thinking the best is to do nothing..but I'm not sure. Your thoughts......

No, you don't say anything to him at all.
