Welcome to this board bluebonnetq,

I can understand wanting more out of life or more out of a relaitonship, but I can't imagine this:

::Couldn't sleep all night, and when I got up to go to work I said "I think it would be best if I just walk away".

Mmmm. words of Wisdom in relation to what? How to deal with the break up is pretty well covered in the bottom section. But I suspect or guess that at some point you're going to start pining for closure because it never really 'ended'.

In terms of advice or opinion on your relationship or ex-relationship, I'm not judging, but I have to point out that this is perhaps not the most adult way to handle the lack of a click. It comes out as more of a drama than reality, really. From the flip side of the coin, I can say that if I'd been on the receiving end of the statement that Carrie pointed out, I wouldn't come either. I would feel unwanted, insulted, and angry, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't. That's not to say you're WRONG for wanting to break up, I just feel that two adults should be able to party more respectfully than that. Capice?

In a more general sense, there are plenty of nice guys out there. Definitely and for sure. It's been said before, but I'll repeat, being a great guy doesn't mean he's great for you. Obviously having to become the sole breadwinner in the family is a dealbreaker for you, and I can appreciate and respect that.

cheers,
